I received the following message from Romy Bal:
It is with great sadness that I write to advise you that my beloved Bob died on June 7.
Bob started at TRW in 1965 in the EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) department under John Lindner for those who can remember that far back. He worked in EDI, Cable and Harness, EMC, Radiation and System Engineering over the years both as an Engineer and as a manager. He supported a large number of programs throughout his career starting with OGO, DSP, AEHF and the closed area. He was acting center manager on several occasions.
He retired in 2007 or 2008 temporarily and continued to work as a contractor through 2016 off and on as a reviewer for PDRs, CDRs on a large number of Space Park programs. He was an expert at both solving technical and personnel issues of high complexity.
I will forever miss him as he was my mentor and someone who I could get advice both professionally and personally. I among others called him dad lovingly. He was one in a million.
RIP Bob.
