I am very to sorry to hear this news. I knew and worked with Barry throughout my entire TRW career from 1970. We worked together on many proposals and R&D contracts. Our biggest project was the DOD VHSIC (Very High Speed Integrated Circuit) project around 1980 for which I wrote the application parts of the proposal. Many others, such as Barry Whalen and Ed Tsou were involved. This was a very successful program that, with Barry as the head of MEC, catapulted us into the big time in microelectronics and added significantly to our contract portfolio when we were just starting up in San Diego. He and I continued interacting into the 90’s working on Intellectual Property. We were very good friends and had many interesting conversations.
